2014 is shaping up to be a pretty adventurous year. I think that I have worked to the point that I can take the time off to take a shot at a full gravel racing schedule. The type of schedule I have been wanting to run for the last few years. Now is the time. I’m even going to mix it up a little. While drafting my training plan for the year, I thought it would be a good idea to start getting in some cross training in the form of running. RUNNING. But why go through all the trouble of getting equipped to run just for training? I have decided to do some running races also. I’m also planning on throwing in a few proper MTB races during the year, and try to make a dent in cross season this fall. We will see about that, if I can make it through this schedule and manage to take care of personal/business obligations then I might need to take some time off at the end of the year. Maybe just head north with a fat bike and some gear. Maybe head south on a touring bike. Maybe make tacos. We will see.
2014 Event Schedule:
– at least one solo full century
-“Couch to 10 miler” Training
8th – Psycho Wyco (Ten mile trail RUNNING race in Kansas)
22nd – CIRREM
-Solo effort, training towards TIV10
8th -Gent’s Race
11th – Pilot Knob 15k Trail Race (Running)
16th- Almonzo Royal 162

That’s about as far as I have gotten in the planning. I will be sprinkling a few 5k runs in there (non-dumb-themed) I might ride a few days of the BRAI also, who knows.
Until next time, ride your f-ing bike.
